In the recent years there are several news and reports on corruption, fraud, money laundering, killings, cultism, kidnapping for ransom and for rituals, suicide bombing, violent demonstrations, and so on. All these are characteristics of the present world in which we found ourselves. Gone were the days when you believe business partners for what they say, when you trust your friend to keep agreements without signing any formal document. Sometimes ago electricity meters were installed outside and it would remain there without being stolen. Also, our old parents told us of the time people used to display their products outside without anybody monitoring, and when a willing buyer gets there he pays the correct price as indicated by stones placed beside the products. The seller also will come to see his money intact. In those days there was transparency, sincerity, sanity, hatred for evils, true love and the earth also gave her increase. No lack, no inflation, no drought, no flooding, no depletion of ozone layer, no Ebola virus disease (EVD) and no HIV/AIDS.

We are now in a generation that no longer fears to do evil, people are no more ashame of bad behaviour, they tell lies easily, they use the modern technology to perpetrate evil, they plan for wars and they shed innocent blood, a lot of terrorism/ insurgency, lust instead of love, gay marriage, indecent dressing, rape, abortion, injustice, failed governments, wickedness and all sort of evil acts. But why is our generation experiencing all these? Why are we now in hostile environment? Why the change from good to bad? And what is the solution?

The terrible situation in the present world is a signal that the world is dying, and cannot last forever. It is a sign of the end time. 1st John 2:17 says “and the world passeth away, and the lust thereof: but he that doeth the will of God abideth forever.”  Everything that is happening now is tailored towards the end time program. As the shame of the past is becoming the fashion of the day, we should know that the world is gradually coming to an end. No wonder the bible says that the spirit of anti-Christ is already in the world- 1st John 4:3. But how can we escape from the present predicaments? What is the way out? The only Way out of the troubled world is Jesus Christ. He is the answer, the saviour and the living hope in a dying world.

Additionally, know that everything that has a beginning will surely have an end. One day you came into this world, so that means the physical death is inevitable. It is a debt that everyman must pay. But what happens after the end of a man? Judgment follows. In Hebrew 9:27 the bible says “and as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment.” It is the Judgment that leads us into eternity. Eternity in heaven or in hell? John 3:16 says “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.” It is certain that everyman will die, and also the world will come to an end. But the end of the world is not the end of life, the life is eternal. So where will you spend your eternity? Remember this: “…..He (God) gave his only begotten Son (Jesus), that whosoever believeth in him should not perish (in hell fire), but have everlasting life (in heaven).” Only those that accept Jesus Christ and keep the faith till the end will inherit the kingdom of heaven.

Finally, do not forget that there are many gods in the dying world but there is only one living God. He alone loves you and can give you a living hope. In Romans 5:8 the Bible says “But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.” Are you still involved in any evil or wicked acts? Has the love of money, power and position distracted you from the living Hope? Repent now and believe in Jesus Christ. He alone has the power to save and reconcile you to the living God. Also, trust in God for everything and always pray to Him. Every good thing you desire is found in Him. He will surely meet your needs and help you to fulfill your destiny (Jeremiah 29:11).
